Making a difference at Baylor College of Medicine doesn’t mean you have to make a million dollar gift. The BCM Annual Fund is the college’s true base of funding, supporting all mission areas and college priorities. A gift to the Annual Fund makes an immediate, tangible difference on the excellence of the institution, and is one of the best ways to help deliver tomorrow’s medicine, today.

I can’t afford a big gift: how will my small donation matter?

As the Best Minds Best Medicine campaign continues, you have likely heard of many of the generous gifts we have received from community leaders and friends of Baylor College of Medicine. With rare exception, these gifts are designated for specific uses to further our mission.

Gifts to the Annual Fund, however, are unrestricted, meaning they may be disbursed to meet the college’s most immediate needs. Countless programs and initiatives at BCM need just a little boost to achieve astonishing results. A strong Annual Fund can provide these funds when they are most needed.

So…why should I make a gift to the BCM Annual Fund?

• In a research institution like BCM, new discoveries happen every day. With your Annual Fund gift we can explore these discoveries immediately, without a delay to secure additional funding from public or private entities.
• Innovations in education and patient care need testing to prove their effectiveness.  A strong Annual Fund can underwrite promising pilot projects.
• A modest gift to the Annual Fund can have as great an impact on the college today as a large endowed gift can have in perpetuity.  A $1 million Annual Fund has the same buying power as the annual distrubution from a $20 million endowment!
