Houston’s first art bra project Taking Breast Cancer Awareness Month to an Art Form October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness month and a Houston first – BRA-vissima! - an unprecedented art bra project to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and patient care at the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Smith Breast Center volunteers are introducing the art bra project to highlight the healing power of art, the strength of women of all cultures, and the joys of life during and after the challenges of breast cancer. Houston area artists, designers, breast cancer patients, survivors, and their family members, have created more than 40 art bras, each a unique and creative work of art. Select BRA-vissima! art bras will be available for public viewing beginning October 5th.
